BACKGROUND: Social media with real-time content and a wide-reaching user network opens up more possibilities for palliative and end-of-life care (PEoLC) researchers who have begun to embrace it as a complementary research tool. This review aims to identify the uses of social media in PEoLC studies and to examine the ethical considerations and data collection approaches raised by this research approach. METHODS: Nine online databases were searched for PEoLC research using social media published before December 2022. Thematic analysis and narrative synthesis approach were used to categorise social media applications. RESULTS: 21 studies were included. 16 studies used social media to conduct secondary analysis and five studies used social media as a platform for information sharing. Ethical considerations relevant to social media studies varied while 15 studies discussed ethical considerations, only 6 studies obtained ethical approval and 5 studies confirmed participant consent. Among studies that used social media data, most of them manually collected social media data, and other studies relied on Twitter application programming interface or third-party analytical tools. A total of 1 520 329 posts, 325 videos and 33 articles related to PEoLC from 2008 to 2022 were collected and analysed. CONCLUSIONS: Social media has emerged as a promising complementary research tool with demonstrated feasibility in various applications. However, we identified the absence of standardised ethical handling and data collection approaches which pose an ongoing challenge. We provided practical recommendations to bridge these pressing gaps for researchers wishing to use social media in future PEoLC-related studies.

BACKGROUND: Traumatic brain injury (TBI), as a major public health problem, is characterized by high incidence rate, disability rate, and mortality rate. Neuroinflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of TBI. Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1) is recognized as an amplifier of the inflammation in diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). However, the function of TREM-1 remains unclear post-TBI. This study aimed to investigate the function of TREM-1 in neuroinflammation induced by TBI. METHODS: Brain water content (BWC), modified neurological severity score (mNSS), and Morris Water Maze (MWM) were measured to evaluate the effect of TREM-1 inhibition on nervous system function and outcome after TBI. TREM-1 expression in vivo was evaluated by Western blotting. The cellular localization of TREM-1 in the damaged region was observed via immunofluorescence staining. We also conducted Western blotting to examine expression of SYK, p-SYK and other downstream proteins. RESULTS: We found that inhibition of TREM-1 reduced brain edema, decreased mNSS and improved neurobehavioral outcomes after TBI. It was further determined that TREM-1 was expressed on microglia and modulated subtype transition of microglia. Inhibition of TREM-1 alleviated neuroinflammation, which was associated with SYK/p38MAPK signaling pathway. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that TREM-1 can be a potential clinical therapeutic target for alleviating neuroinflammation after TBI.

PURPOSE: We aimed to compare the therapeutic effect of radiotherapy (RT) plus systemic therapy (ST) with RT alone in patients with simple brain metastasis (BM) after first-line treatment of limited-stage small cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). METHODS: The patients were treated at a single center from January 2011 to January 2022. BM only without metastases to other organs was defined as simple BM. The eligible patients were divided into RT alone (monotherapy arm) and RT plus ST (combined therapy arm). Univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards analyses were used to examine factors associated with increased risk of extracranial progression. After 1:1 propensity score matching analysis, two groups were compared for extracranial progression-free survival (ePFS), PFS, overall survival (OS), and intracranial PFS (iPFS). RESULTS: 133 patients were identified and 100 were analyzed (monotherapy arm: n = 50, combined therapy arm: n = 50). The ePFS of the combined therapy was significantly longer than that of the monotherapy, with a median ePFS of 13.2 months (95% CI, 6.6-19.8) in combined therapy and 8.2 months (95% CI, 5.7-10.7) in monotherapy (P = 0.04). There were no statistically significant differences in PFS (P = 0.057), OS (P = 0.309), or iPFS (P = 0.448). Multifactorial analysis showed that combined therapy was independently associated with better ePFS compared with monotherapy (HR = 0.617, P = 0.034); more than 5 BMs were associated with worse ePFS compared with 1-5 BMs (HR = 1.808, P = 0.012). CONCLUSIONS: Compared with RT alone, combined therapy improves ePFS in patients with simple BM after first-line treatment of LS-SCLC. Combined therapy and 1-5 BMs reduce the risk of extracranial recurrence.

Of all malignancies, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), constituting 90% of pancreatic cancers, has the worst prognosis. Glycolysis is overactive in PDAC patients and is associated with poor prognosis. Drugs that inhibit glycolysis as well as induce cell death need to be identified. However, glycolysis inhibitors often fail to induce cell death. We here found that FV-429, a derivative of the natural flavonoid wogonin, can induce mitochondrial apoptosis and inhibit glycolysis in PDAC in vivo and in vitro. In vitro, FV-429 inhibited intracellular ATP content, glucose uptake, and lactate generation, consequently leading to mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis in PDAC cells. Furthermore, it decreased the expression of PKM2 (a specific form of pyruvate kinase) through the ERK signaling pathway and enhanced PKM2 nuclear translocation. TEPP-46, the activator of PKM2, reversed FV-429-induced glycolysis inhibition and mitochondrial apoptosis in the PDAC cells. In addition, FV-429 exhibited significant tumor suppressor activity and high safety in BxPC-3 cell xenotransplantation models. These results thus demonstrated that FV-429 decreases PKM2 expression through the ERK signaling pathway and enhances PKM2 nuclear translocation, thereby resulting in glycolysis inhibition and mitochondrial apoptosis in PDAC in vitro and in vivo, which makes FV-429 a promising candidate for pancreatic cancer treatment.

Graphite anode suffers from great capacity loss and larger cell polarization under low-temperature conditions in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), which are mainly caused by the high energy barrier for the Li+ desolvation process and sluggish Li+ transfer rate across the solid electrolyte interface (SEI). Regulating an electrolyte with an anion-dominated solvation structure could synchronously stabilize the interface and boost the reaction kinetics of the graphite anode. Herein, a highly ionic conductive electrolyte consisting of a fully methylated cyclic ether solvent of 2,2,4,4,5,5-hexamethyl-1,3-dioxolane (HMD) and fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) cosolvent was designed. The high electron-donating effect and steric hindrance of -(CH3)2 in HMD endow the HMD-based electrolyte with high ionic conductivity but lower coordination numbers with Li+, and an anion-dominated solvation structure was formed. Such configuration can accelerate the desolvation process and induce the forming of a LiF-rich SEI film on the anode, avoiding the solvent coembedding into graphite and enhancing the ion migration rate under low temperatures. The assembled Li||graphite cell with the tame electrolyte outperformed the conventional carbonates-based cell, showing 93.8% capacity retention after 227 cycles for the DF-based cell compared to 64.7% after 150 cycles. It also exhibited a prolonged cycle life for 200 rounds with 81% capacity retention under -20 °C. Therefore, this work offers a valuable thought for solvent design and provides approaches to electrolyte design for low-temperature LIBs.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is a serious health concern for men due to its high incidence and mortality rate. The first therapy typically adopted is androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). However, patient response to ADT varies, and 20-30% of PCa cases develop into castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). This article investigates the anti-PCa effect of a drug candidate named GL-V9 and highlights the significant mechanism involving the AKT-hexokinase II (HKII) pathway. In both androgen receptor (AR)-expressing 22RV1 cells and AR-negative PC3 cells, GL-V9 suppressed phosphorylated AKT and mitochondrial location of HKII. This led to glycolytic inhibition and mitochondrial pathway-mediated apoptosis. Additionally, GL-V9 inhibited AR activity in 22RV1 cells and disrupted the feedback activation of AKT signaling in condition of AR inhibition. This disruption greatly increased the anti-PCa efficacy of the AR antagonist bicalutamide. In conclusion, we present a novel anti-PCa candidate and combination drug strategies to combat CRPC by intervening in the AR-AKT-HKII signaling network.

Androgen receptor (AR) antagonists are widely used for the treatment of prostate cancer (PCa), but their therapeutic efficacy is usually compromised by the rapid emergence of drug resistance. However, the lack of the detailed interaction between AR and its antagonists poses a major obstacle to the design of novel AR antagonists. Here, funnel metadynamics is employed to elucidate the inherent regulation mechanisms of three AR antagonists (hydroxyflutamide, enzalutamide, and darolutamide) on AR. For the first time it is observed that the binding of antagonists significantly disturbed the C-terminus of AR helix-11, thereby disrupting the specific internal hydrophobic contacts of AR-LBD and correspondingly the communication between AR ligand binding pocket (AR-LBP), activation function 2 (AF2), and binding function 3 (BF3). The subsequent bioassays verified the necessity of the hydrophobic contacts for AR function. Furthermore, it is found that darolutamide, a newly approved AR antagonist capable of fighting almost all reported drug resistant AR mutants, can induce antagonistic binding structure. Subsequently, docking-based virtual screening toward the dominant binding conformation of AR for darolutamide is conducted, and three novel AR antagonists with favorable binding affinity and strong capability to combat drug resistance are identified by in vitro bioassays. This work provides a novel rational strategy for the development of anti-resistant AR antagonists.

The poultry skeletal system serves multiple functions, not only providing structural integrity but also maintaining the balance of essential minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. However, in recent years, the consideration of skeletal traits has been overlooked in the selective breeding of broilers, resulting in an inadequate adaptation of the skeletal system to cope with the rapid increase in body weight. Consequently, this leads to lameness and bone diseases such as tibial dyschondroplasia (TD), which significantly impact the production performance of broilers. Accumulating evidence has shown that microRNAs (miRNA) play a crucial role in the differentiation, formation, and disease of cartilage. However, the miRNA-mediated molecular mechanism underlying chicken TD formation is still poorly understood. The objective of this study was to investigate the biological function and regulatory mechanism of miRNA in chicken TD formation. Based on transcriptome sequencing of tibial cartilage in the healthy group and TD group, miR-206a-3p was found to be highly expressed in TD cartilage. The function of miR-206a-3p was explored through the transfection test of miR-206a-3p mimics and miR-206a-3p inhibitor. In this study, we utilized qRT-PCR, CCK-8, EdU, western blot, and flow cytometry to detect the proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis of chondrocytes. The results revealed that miR-206a-3p suppressed the proliferation and differentiation of TD chondrocytes while promoting their programmed cell death. Furthermore, through biosynthesis and dual luciferase assays, it was determined that BMP6 was the direct target gene of miR-206a-3p. This finding was further supported by rescue experiments which confirmed the involvement of BMP6 in the regulatory pathway governed by miR-206a-3p. Our results suggest that miR-206a-3p can inhibits the proliferation and differentiation promote apoptosis through the target gene BMP-6 and suppressing the Smad2/3 signaling pathway in chicken TD chondrocytes.

AIM: To explore the views and preferences for advance care planning from the perspectives of residents, family members and healthcare professionals in long-term care facilities. DESIGN: A qualitative descriptive design. METHODS: We conducted semi-structured interviews with 12 residents of long-term care facilities, 10 family members and 14 healthcare professionals. Data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. The social ecological model was used to develop implementation recommendations. RESULTS: We constructed a conceptual model of barriers and facilitators to advance care planning in long-term care facilities, drawing upon four dominant themes from the qualitative analysis: (1) The absence of discourse on end-of-life care: a lack of cultural climate to talk about death, the unspoken agreement to avoid conversations about death, and poor awareness of palliative care may hinder advance care planning initiation; (2) Relational decision-making process is a dual factor affecting advance care planning engagement; (3) Low trust and 'unsafe' cultures: a lack of honest information sharing, risks of violating social expectations and damaging social relationships, and risks of legal consequences may hinder willingness to engage in advance care planning; (4) Meeting and respecting residents' psychosocial needs: these can be addressed by readiness assessment, initiating advance care planning in an informal and equal manner and involving social workers. CONCLUSION: Our findings show that residents' voices were not being heard. It is necessary to identify residents' spontaneous conversation triggers, articulate the value of advance care planning in light of the family's values and preferences, and respect residents' psychosocial needs to promote advance care planning in long-term care facilities. Advance care planning may alleviate the decision-making burden of offspring in nuclear families. IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: The evidence-based recommendations in this study will inform the implementation of context-specific advance care planning in Asia-Pacific regions. PATIENT AND PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION: Patients and caregivers contributed to the interview pilot and data collection.

The objective of this study is to explore the pharmacokinetics, tissue distribution, and excretion patterns of GL-V9 and its glucuronide metabolite, 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9, following the administration of GL-V9 to Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. In this research, we developed and validated rapid, sensitive, and selective ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) methods for quantifying GL-V9 and 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9 in various biological samples, including SD rat plasma, tissue homogenate, bile, urine, and feces. Quantification of GL-V9 and 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9 in plasma, tissue homogenate, bile, urine, and feces was performed using the validated LC-MS/MS methods. The bioavailability of GL-V9 in SD rats ranged from 6.23% to 7.08%, and both GL-V9 and 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9 exhibited wide distribution and rapid elimination from tissues. The primary distribution tissues for GL-V9 and 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9 in rats were the duodenum, liver, and lung. GL-V9 was predominantly excreted in urine, while 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9 was primarily excreted in bile. GL-V9 exhibited easy absorption and rapid conversion to its glucuronide metabolite, 5-O-glucuronide GL-V9, following administration.

Animals have endogenous clocks that regulate their behavior and physiology. These clocks rely on environmental cues (time givers) that appear approximately every 24 h due to the Earth's rotation; thus, most insects exhibit a circadian rhythm. One notable exception is the scarab beetle, Holotrichia parallela, a severe agricultural pest in China, Japan, South Korea, and India. Females emerge from the soil every other night, reach the canopy of host plants, evert an abdominal gland, and release a pheromone bouquet comprising l-isoleucine methyl ester (LIME) and l-linalool. To determine whether this circa'bi'dian rhythm affects the olfactory system, we aimed to identify H. parallela sex pheromone receptor(s) and study their expression patterns. We cloned 14 odorant receptors (ORs) and attempted de-orphanizing them in the Xenopus oocyte recording system. HparOR14 gave robust responses to LIME and smaller responses to l-linalool. Structural modeling, tissue expression profile, and RNAi treatment followed by physiological and behavioral studies support that HparOR14 is a sex pheromone receptor-the first of its kind discovered in Coleoptera. Examination of the HparOR14 transcript levels throughout the adult's life showed that on sexually active days, gene expression was significantly higher in the scotophase than in the photophase. Additionally, the HparOR14 expression profile showed a circabidian rhythm synchronized with the previously identified pattern of sex pheromone emission. 48 h of electroantennogram recordings showed that responses to LIME were abolished on non-calling nights. In contrast, responses to the green leaf volatile (Z)-3-henexyl acetate remained almost constant throughout the recording period.

Multisensory integration and attention can interact in a way that attention to the visual constituent of a multisensory object results in an attentional spreading to its ignored auditory constituent, which can be either stimulus-driven or representation-driven depending on whether the object's visual constituent receives extra representation-based selective attention. Previous research using simple unrelated audiovisual combinations has shown that the stimulus-driven attentional spreading is contingent on audiovisual temporal simultaneity. However, little is known about whether this temporal constraint applies also to the representation-driven attentional spreading, and whether it holds for the stimulus-driven process elicited by real-life multisensory objects. The current event-related potential study investigated these questions by systematically manipulating the visual-to-auditory stimulus onset asynchrony (SOA: 0/100/300 ms) in an object-selective visual recognition task wherein the representation-driven and stimulus-driven spreading processes, measured as two distinct auditory negative difference (Nd) components, could be isolated independently. Our results showed that both the representation-driven and stimulus-driven Nds decreased as the SOA increased. Interestingly, the representation-driven Nd was completely absent, whereas the stimulus-driven Nd was still robust, when the auditory constituents were delayed by 300 ms. These findings not only indicate that the role of audiovisual simultaneity in the representation-driven attentional spreading has been underestimated, but also suggest that learned associations between the unisensory constituents of real-life objects render the stimulus-driven attentional spreading more tolerant of audiovisual asynchrony.

This paper specifically focuses on the absorber, the critical component responsible for the detector's response performance. The meta-surface absorber combines two resonant structures and achieves over 80% absorptance around 210 GHz, resulting in a broad operating frequency range. FR-4 is selected as the dielectric layer to be compatible with standard printed circuit board (PCB) technology, which reduces the overall fabrication time and cost. The absorbing unit and array layout are symmetrically designed, providing stable absorptance performance even under incident waves of different polarization angles. The polarization-insensitive absorptance characteristic further enhances the compatibility between the absorber and the detector in the application scenario. Furthermore, the thermal insulation performance of the absorber is ensured by introducing thermal insulation gaps. After completing fabrication through PCB technology, testing revealed that the absorber maintained excellent absorptance performance within its primary operating frequency range. This performance consistency closely matched the simulation results.

BACKGROUND: The ratio of non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) (NHHR) serves as a reliable lipid indicator associated with atherogenic characteristics. Studies have indicated a potential connection between suicidality and lipid metabolism. This research aims to investigate any possible association between the NHHR and the emergence of suicidal ideation within the confines of the study. METHODS: This study examined the association between NHHR levels and suicidal ideation using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), conducted in the United States spanning 2005 and 2016. Calculation of the NHHR corresponds to the proportion of HDL-C to Non-HDL-C. The Patient Health Questionnaire-9's ninth question was implemented for assessing suicidal ideation. Using subgroup analysis, smooth curve fitting, and multivariate logistic regression analysis, the research was conducted. RESULTS: Encompassing a cohort of 29,288 participants, the analysis identified that 3.82% of individuals reported suicidal ideation. After using multivariable logistic regression and thorough adjustments, elevated NHHR levels were significantly and positively associated with a heightened likelihood of suicidal ideation, according to the findings (odds ratio [OR] = 1.06; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.02-1.11; P = 0.0048). Despite extensive adjustment for various confounding factors, this relationship remained consistent. An inverted U-shaped curve was utilized to illustrate the link between NHHR and suicidal ideation among nonsmokers; the curve's inflection point was situated at 7.80. Subgroup analysis and interaction tests (all P for interaction > 0.05) demonstrated that there was no significant influence of the following variables on this positive relationship: age, sex, race, body mass index, education level, married status, hypertension, diabetes, and smoking status. CONCLUSION: Significantly higher NHHR levels were associated with an elevated likelihood of suicidal ideation. Based on these results, it is probable that NHHR may serve as a predictive indicator of suicidal ideation, emphasizing its potential utility in risk assessment and preventive strategies.

BACKGROUND: Numerous studies have demonstrated a positive correlation between diet quality and cognitive performance, indicating that improving diet quality may be beneficial in preventing cognitive decline in older adults. However, few study has investigated the causal relationship between diet quality and cognitive performance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the causal effects of diet quality on cognitive performance in Chinese adults aged 55 years and older. Particularly, we utilize the Chinese Diet Quality Index (CHEI), a dietary assessment tool tailored for Chinese populations, as a proxy for older adults' diet quality. METHODS: Data were obtained from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) ([Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]55 years old) conducted in 2004 and 2006. Cognitive function was tested by a subset of items from the Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status-Modified (TICS-m). Data on dietary intake was retrieved from three consecutive 24 hour recalls by participants and its quality was assessed by the 17-items Chinese Healthy Eating Index (CHEI). An Instrumental Variable technique was used to deal with the potential endogeneity of dietary quality. The instrumental variable used in our study is the community mean of CHEI. RESULTS: After adjusting for socio-demographic factors (age, gender, education, per capita household income), lifestyle habits (smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, BMI), and chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes), our findings revealed that improving diet quality had a significant positive effect on cognitive performance ([Formula: see text]), particularly in females aged 55-65 years ([Formula: see text]) and females with primary education and below ([Formula: see text]). CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that improving diet quality and adhering to the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese may enhance cognitive performance in Chinese adults aged 55 years and older.

We report an FeCl2-catalyzed annulation reaction between α-azido acetamides and cyclic ketones. Two types of α,ß-unsaturated γ-lactam products can be obtained, depending on the reaction conditions. When α-azido acetamides were reacted with cyclohexanone, 8-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1H-indol-2(4H)-ones were obtained when a primary amine was present in the reaction system; conducting the reaction in the presence of 2-aminobenzenesulfonic acid, on the contrary, resulted in the formation of 5,6-dihydro-1H-indol-2(4H)-ones. Cycloheptanone and cyclooctanone reacted in the same way as cyclohexanone. The reactions proceed via the intermediacy of 2-iminoacetamides, which are formed by FeCl2-facilitated dinitrogenation of α-azido acetamides. These reactions constitute a new strategy for expanding the synthetic dimensions of organic azides.

Thiram, an agricultural insecticide, has been demonstrated to induce tibial dyschondroplasia (TD) in avian species. Circular RNA (circRNAs), a novel class of functional biological macromolecules characterized by their distinct circular structure, play crucial roles in various biological processes and diseases. Nevertheless, the precise regulatory mechanism underlying non-coding RNA involvement in thiram-induced broiler tibial chondrodysplasia remains elusive. In this study, we established a broiler model of thiram exposure for 10 days to assess TD and obtain a ceRNA network by RNA sequencing. By analyzing the differentially expressed circRNAs network, we id entify that circ_003084 was significantly upregulated in TD cartilage. Elevated circ_003084 inhibited TD chondrocytes proliferation and differentiation in vitro but promote apoptosis. Mechanistically, circ_003084 competitively binds to miR-130c-5p and prevents miR-130c-5p to decrease the level of BMPR1A, which upregulates the expression of apoptosis genes Caspase 3, Caspase 9, Bax and Bcl2, and finally facilitates cell apoptosis. Taken together, these findings imply that circ_003084/miR-130c-5p/BMPR1A interaction regulated TD chicken chondrocyte proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation. This is the first work to reveal the mechanism of regulation of circRNA-related ceRNA on thiram-induced TD, offering a key reference for environmental toxicology.

Objective: This research aims to assess the clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in combination with modified radical mastectomy (MRM) for stage II-III breast cancer (BC) patients and its impact on serum tumor markers (STMs). Methods: The study included 119 stage II-III BC patients treated between June 2018 and June 2021. Among them, 55 cases underwent MRM (reference group), while 64 cases received NACT followed by MRM (research group). We compared intraoperative parameters (blood loss, operation time, hospital stay), clinical outcomes, the incidence of postoperative adverse events (AEs), changes in STMs (CA125, CA153, CEA), and one-year postoperative quality of life (QOL). Results: In comparison to the reference group, the research group exhibited significantly lower intraoperative blood loss, shorter operation times, reduced hospital stays, and higher rates of disease remission. Notably, the research group experienced a lower overall incidence of AEs, including skin flap necrosis, subscalp effusion, infection, and upper limb lymphedema. Postoperatively, all STMs in the research group exhibited statistically significant reductions and were lower than those in the reference group. Additionally, all QOL subscales demonstrated improvements and higher scores in the research group. Conclusions: NACT followed by MRM represents an effective approach for enhancing surgical outcomes and clinical efficacy in stage II-III BC patients. This combination therapy also reduces the risk of postoperative AEs and leads to favorable changes in STMs and postoperative QOL levels.

Nitrofuran (NF) antibiotics have been banned worldwide in aquaculture due to their potential carcinogenicity and mutagenicity. Because of the short half-life of NF antibiotics, an easy and sensitive multiple lateral flow immunoassay (mLFIA) based on europium nanoparticles (EuNPs) has been successfully established to simultaneously and quantitatively detect 3-amino-5-morpholinomethyl-2-oxazolidinone (AMOZ), 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone (AOZ) and sodium nifurstylenate (NFS) in aquatic products. The EuNP-mLFIA assay was accomplished within 10 min. The limits of detection (LODs) for AOZ, AMOZ and NFS were 0.013, 0.019 and 0.023 ng/mL, respectively. The average recoveries of AOZ, AMOZ and NFS were 98.0-104.4%, 96.0-102.6% and 98.0-102.8%, respectively. It showed satisfactory consistency, and the feasibility was validated by high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). Briefly, this method will become a powerful tool for monitoring multiple NF antibiotics and provide promising applications in the field of food safety and environmental testing.

The early diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma is critical for improving patient survival and prognosis. However, the diagnostic efficiency of a single examination is often insufficient, because it is easy to cause misdiagnosis and missed diagnoses. Therefore, this study used the classification and regression tree (CART) algorithm to establish and validate a CART model to distinguish endometrial carcinoma from other endometrial lesions. The clinical data of 297 patients treated at Changde Hospital, Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University between April 2021 and April 2023 for postmenopausal uterine effusion, postmenopausal vaginal bleeding, abnormal uterine bleeding and endometrial thickening were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, there were 203 cases of endometrial carcinoma and 94 cases of endometrial lesions. The pathological results from endometrial biopsy and hysteroscopic curettage were compared. The coincidence rate of endometrial biopsy was 90.34% (187/207) and the AUC, sensitivity, and specificity of the diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma were 0.920, 0.914, and 0.925, respectively. Six serological indicators with diagnostic significance were screened out: carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), human epididymis secretory protein 4 (HE4), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), D-dimer, and absolute neutrophil count (N). The AUC, sensitivity and specificity of the CART model based on the above indicators were 0.949, 0.979, and 0.896, respectively. The CART model is an intuitive and simple tool for the clinical diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma and endometrial lesions.
